(UN)SPOKEN SOUNDSCAPES

In the project (UN)SPOKEN SOUNDSCAPES, we activate the Bauernbergpark in Linz as a site of encounter – between its inhabitants and visitors – within an embodied experiential space of movement, sound, memory, imagination, and dreaming.

The starting point is the history of the site: before 1900, the Bauernbergpark served as a sand pit and was later transformed into a park. During the Second World War, it was devastated and subsequently restored.
Building on this cyclical history of the park between destruction and renewal, we reflect together on our relationship to resources, rest, commodification, and all that keeps us alive.

In two open workshops, we come together to open sensory and imaginative spaces and, through collective exercises, weave a living sound field. We practice listening, explore movement and voice, and create experimental soundscapes. s aimed at women, inter-, trans-, non-binary people, fluid, complex, migrant, queer bodies and identities,

From the collective compositions, we will create a temporary sound sculpture that will remain accessible in the park as a sonic trace.

The workshops are open for all from 13 y.o. No prior experience necessary!

Meeting point: Bauernbergpark, Säulentempel, 4020 Linz.

2- Session: July 4th, Saturday, 11:00-13:30 in Bauernbergpark, Linz
3- Sculpture opening: August 1st, Saturday, 11:00-12:00 in Bauernbergpark, Linz
