ENCOUNTERS #3

Encounters is a series of dance pieces placed in rooms and spaces related to work. It departs from the idea that dance is work and sets out to expand the notion of work and to re-place contemporary dance from a theatre situation to an activity and occupation with which we can practice being with each other – performers and audience alike. After Encounters #1 in an abandoned factory space during the COVID- lockdown and Encounters #2 in the office spaces of Tanzquartier Wien after hours, Encounters #3 will explores the working environment of an agricultural field.

This edition of Encounters was performed by some of Gottfarb’s long standing collaborators, joined by the participants of the ImPulsTanz Pro Series workshop. In the workshop Gottfarb is joined by Clélia Colonna to integrate voice explorations in the movement practice.
